Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego

Featuring Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego

The Story

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were young men from Judah living under Babylonian rule, but they refused to worship the golden image King Nebuchadnezzar set up. Music filled the plain and the crowd bowed low, yet these three friends remained standing. When the king threatened them with a blazing furnace, they answered respectfully that their God was able to deliver them, but even if He did not, they would not serve the idol. Furious, the king ordered the fire heated hotter than ever, and the flames roared so fiercely that even strong men fell near the opening. But inside the furnace the three were walking unharmed, and a fourth figure appeared with them. When they came out, not even the smell of smoke clung to their clothes. Their story is a bright picture of fearless faith.

Moral of the Story
