Samson

Featuring Samson

The Story

Samson's life began with a special promise before he was born, for God set him apart to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines. As he grew, the Spirit of the Lord gave him great strength, and he tore a lion apart with his bare hands. Yet Samson often followed his own desires instead of walking wisely. Again and again he fought the Philistines, astonishing people with the power God had given him, but his heart was careless. Delilah pressed him until he revealed that his uncut hair was the sign of his Nazirite calling. After it was cut, he was captured and blinded. In the end Samson prayed for help one last time, and God gave him strength to pull down the temple pillars. His story is both tragic and powerful, showing that great gifts must be matched with faithful obedience.

Moral of the Story

Strength comes from God, and trusting Him is the key to overcoming challenges.
