The Story
Rahab lived in Jericho, a city surrounded by strong walls, but she had heard what the God of Israel had done at the Red Sea and beyond. When two Israelite spies came to the city, Rahab hid them on her roof beneath stalks of flax. Soldiers searched for the men, but Rahab protected them and asked for mercy for her family when Jericho fell. The spies told her to tie a scarlet cord in her window as a sign. On the day the city walls collapsed, the noise of battle thundered all around, yet Rahab's home remained safe. She and her family were rescued because she trusted the Lord and acted in faith. Rahab's story shows that God welcomes people who turn to Him, no matter where they begin.
Moral of the Story
