Joseph
Featuring Joseph
The Story
Joseph was deeply loved by his father Jacob, who gave him a special robe that made his brothers' jealousy burn even hotter. Joseph also told dreams that seemed to show he would one day rule over them, and his brothers could not bear to hear it. When Joseph came to visit them in the fields, they stripped off his robe, threw him into a pit, and sold him to traders heading to Egypt. In Egypt Joseph served faithfully, yet he was falsely accused and sent to prison. Even there God was with him, helping him understand dreams until Pharaoh called for him. Joseph became a wise leader who stored grain during good years and saved many lives during famine. When his brothers finally stood before him, Joseph chose forgiveness and saw that God had been at work even through deep suffering.
Moral of the Story
