Jacob
Featuring Jacob
The Story
Jacob began as a quiet man who lived close to the tents, but his life became a long journey of change. One night as he slept with a stone for a pillow, he dreamed of a stairway reaching to heaven and heard God renew the family promise to him. Later he worked many years in Laban's household, learning patience through love, disappointment, and hard labor. On his way home he feared meeting Esau again, and during the night he wrestled with a mysterious man until daybreak. There Jacob was blessed and given the new name Israel. Jacob limped away changed, knowing he had met with God. His story shows that God patiently shapes imperfect people and keeps His promises through every stage of the journey.
Moral of the Story
