Hannah
Featuring Hannah
The Story
Hannah longed for a child, and her grief deepened each year as she went to worship at Shiloh. In the tabernacle she prayed so earnestly that her lips moved though no sound could be heard, and tears fell as she made a vow to God. She promised that if the Lord gave her a son, she would dedicate him back to God's service. God answered her prayer, and soon Hannah held baby Samuel in her arms. When he was old enough, she brought him to the house of the Lord just as she had promised. Then she sang a beautiful prayer of praise, rejoicing in God's power to lift the humble and care for the weak. Hannah's story is full of honest prayer, patient faith, and grateful obedience.
Moral of the Story
God hears our prayers, and keeping our promises to Him shows faith and gratitude.
