Delilah

Delilah entered Samson's story when the Philistine rulers came to her with a secret plan and offered her money to discover the source of his strength. She stayed close to Samson and kept asking him the same question, day after day, until his spirit grew weary. Samson played with the truth at first, but Delilah kept pressing him while the trap around him tightened. At last he told her that his hair had never been cut because he had been dedicated to God from birth. While he slept with his head in her lap, she called for a man to shave off his hair. When Samson awoke, the strength he had treated lightly was gone. Delilah's story warns that persistent temptation and misplaced trust can lead to deep ruin.
