Card #43
Daniel
Featuring Daniel
The Story
Daniel was carried away to Babylon as a young exile, yet even there he resolved to stay faithful to God. He refused the king's rich food that would defile him, and God gave him health, wisdom, and understanding beyond the others. Later Daniel interpreted dreams that no one else could explain, showing that true wisdom comes from the Lord. Even when a law was passed against praying to anyone but the king, Daniel continued kneeling by his window three times a day. For that faithfulness he was thrown into a den of lions, but God shut the lions' mouths through the night. At dawn Daniel stood unharmed, and the king praised the God who rescues. Daniel's story is about steady faith in a foreign land.
Moral of the Story
God protects those who trust in Him and remain faithful, even in difficult situations.
