Card #21

Caleb & Joshua

Featuring Caleb & Joshua

The Story

When Moses sent twelve spies into Canaan, Caleb and Joshua looked at the same fortified cities and giant warriors the others saw. They carried back fruit so large it took two men to carry a cluster of grapes, and the goodness of the land was plain to see. But while ten spies spread fear, Caleb and Joshua remembered the Lord's power. They begged the people not to rebel and not to fear the inhabitants of the land, because God could surely give it to them. The crowd refused to listen, and Israel wandered in the wilderness for many years. Yet Caleb and Joshua remained faithful, and in the end they entered the promised land. Their story shines with steady courage when everyone else is giving in to panic.
