Card #2
Cain & Abel
Featuring Cain & Abel
The Story
Cain and Abel were the first sons of Adam and Eve. Cain worked the soil, and Abel cared for sheep, so when the time came to bring offerings to God, each brother brought something from his work. Abel gave the first and best from his flock, but Cain did not give with the same heart. When God accepted Abel's offering, Cain's face grew hot with anger, and God warned him to master the sin crouching at his door. Instead, Cain lured Abel into the field and hurt his brother. God confronted Cain, showed him the seriousness of what he had done, and sent him away to wander. Still, God marked Cain for protection, showing that His justice and mercy can both be seen.
Moral of the Story
