Boaz & Ruth

Featuring Boaz & Ruth

The Story

Boaz was a respected landowner in Bethlehem who noticed Ruth as she gleaned behind the harvesters in his fields. He had already heard how she had left her homeland to care for Naomi, and he spoke to her with unusual kindness. Boaz told his workers to leave extra grain for her, invited her to share bread and roasted grain at mealtime, and made sure no one mistreated her. Later Naomi explained that Boaz was a family redeemer, someone who could help restore what had been lost. Ruth approached him humbly at the threshing floor, and Boaz responded with honor rather than selfishness. He settled the matter properly at the city gate and then took Ruth as his wife. Together their story shows generosity, integrity, and God's redeeming care for families in need.

Moral of the Story
